Abstract
Chest pain is a symptom of many serious conditions and is generally considered to be a medical emergency. We treated a 68-year-old female of esophageal perforation presenting severe chest pain after swallowing a fish bone. The perforation of the esophagus was diagnosed by contrast enhanced computed tomography and esophagogastroduodenoscopy. Even though perforation of the esophagus can be fetal, we successfully treated the patient conservatively because the diagnosis was made early and the patient was stable.
